The call for applications to the CENDARI Visiting Research Fellowships is now open.
CENDARI (Collaborative European Digital Archive Infrastructure) is a research collaboration aimed at integrating digital archives and resources for research on medieval and modern European history.
Fellowships will be awarded by five partner institutions in the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland & the UK. These Fellowships will provide researchers with access to nationally and internationally significant archival collections in the two broad thematic areas piloted by CENDARI:
- World War One
- Medieval European culture
The CENDARI Visiting Research Fellowships include an allowance for housing and living expenses as well as travel to and from the inviting institution. Access will be offered for between 8 and 12 weeks,
but the Fellow may extend the stay at his/her own expense and in accordance with the host institution and visa regulations.
Visiting Research Fellows will benefit from the wide range of expertise available in these institutions, from the creation, use, analysis and interpretation of digital source materials to the application of ICT methods to digital scholarship.
Fellows will be required to give a seminar or lecture in their host institution as part of the CENDARI Expert Seminar Series. Fellows will be asked to actively contribute to the development of the CENDARI research infrastructure and to promote the project to their own research networks.
The CENDARI fellowships are funded by the European Union under the FP7 Capacities Programme.
CENDARI is committed to supporting scholars and early career researchers who aim to apply digital humanities methods to their data and to the data integrated through the CENDARI research infrastructure.
Deadline for applications is 12th December 2012.
