The British Library Labs team will be visiting the OU on 29 Feburary 2016 to showcase the projects, competition, awards and events that they run throughout the year which use the British Library’s digital collections in innovative and exciting ways. Join us from 13.00pm to 15.00pm in the Library Presentation Room.
Experiment with the British Library’s digital collections.
The BL Labs team will provide an introduction to the British library’s digital collections and its rich breadth of material, covering a range of media from books through images to sound recordings. Whether your interest is in Anglo-Saxon manuscripts, c16th ballads, historic maps, wildlife sounds or the Gothic novel, there is material in the collections relevant to you.
The roadshow also provides an opportunity to meet the BL Labs team and discuss ways and means of working together to exploit this rich intellectual, scientific and cultural heritage held in digital format at the British Library. The BL team will be providing access to terabytes of data on the day through which you will be able to explore the variety of digital content they have on offer, and how they can support your work with this content.
The two-hour session will start at 13:00, with lunch available for registered attendees from 12:30. More details will follow nearer the time.
